Kesha Rose Sebert (born March 1, 1987),better known by her first name Kesha (stylized Ke$ha), is an American pop singer, rapper and songwriter. Her debut single, Tik Tok, released in late 2009, reached number one in eleven countries and set the weekly records for digital downloads of a female artist and total Top 40 Mainstream airplay in the US.By reaching the top in 2010, the song also became the first Billboard Hot 100 number one of the decade and the longest running number one debut single by a female artist since 1977.
At the age of eighteen, Kesha was signed to Dr. Luke's record label and publishing company. Although an active musician since 2005, singing background vocals and writing songs for other artists, her breakthrough only came in early 2009 after appearing on Flo Rida's number one single "Right Round". Before being brought to RCA Records, she had amassed an extensive social media following that was factored in for the promotion of her debut single and album.Her debut album, Animal, was released in early 2010 and debuted at number one in the US.Kesha will open for Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth tour later that year.
Above is one of Kesha's music videos called 'my first kiss' and from this video I noticed editing techniques that have inspired my ideas. For example, the way the clip of the lips change on the beat everytime a new word is said. E.g when they sing my-first-kiss there are 3 words so there are 3 diffferent types of lips.
There are also jerky camera shots which are used with a handheld camera which adds a contemporary feel to it and we would also like to achieve this look in our music video.

Lady Gaga is inspired by glam rock artists such as David Bowie and Queen, as well as pop musicians such as Madonna and Michael Jackson. She has also stated fashion is a source of inspiration for her songwriting and performances. By May 2010, Gaga had sold over 15 million albums and over 40 million singles worldwide.Time included Gaga in its annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. In June 2010, Forbes listed Gaga fourth on its list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world; she is also ranked as the second most powerful musician in the world.
From this video, I identified that there is the use of parallel editing so that it appears to the audience that numerous events are taking place at the same time. Also, each time Lady Gaga sings the chorus she performs the same dance sequence for to show continuity and shows a performance styled video.
Further on, there are quick fade to black transitions and jump cuts to build suspense to the highest vocal part of the video. I particularly liked this technique as it also corresponded with the beat of the song.

Calvin Harris is a Scottish singer-songwriter, record producer, DJ. Referred to as the King of electropop, his gold-selling debut album, I Created Disco, was released in 2007 and contained the Top 10 singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". He has written and produced records for other recording artists including Kylie Minogue and his number 1 collaboration with British rapper Dizzee Rascal, "Dance Wiv Me".
His second studio album Ready for the Weekend was released on 17 August 2009 and reached number 1 in the UK Album Charts on 23 August. It contains the number 1 single "I'm Not Alone" the UK Top 5 Single "Ready for the Weekend", which was released on 10 August and the track "Flashback" which was released as the third single from the album on 2 November 2009. The fourth single from the album, "You Used to Hold Me" was released on 8 February 2010 as a CD single and download.
From this video I identified that at the beginning it has a narrative style but in the middle it is mostly dancing. Unlike 'Bad Romance' there is not a dance sequence and instead it appears to be a mixture if all types of dancing to reflect the Dance/Trance genre.
Also, unlike 'My first kiss' and 'Bad Romance' there is no miming along with the song. I took a particular interest in the way the choreography corresponded with the beats in the songs and this is extremely important when constructing a music video of our own.
